Welcome to
the Bookkeeping 101 web-site. We're really excited about our new
web-site and plan to use it as a helpful tool for our customers
and our business. Hi, I'm Michael Evans, owner of Bookkeeping 101. I
came up with the name Bookkeeping 101 to basically describe what type
of service our company wanted to provide. From my days in college the
entry level courses were usually a title followed by 101. Many of the
jobs in our economy are provided by small businesses, sort of an
entry level concept. It's the small business that we want to cater to
and we wanted to keep it simple.
I remember
as an Internal Auditor for a restaurant corporation, one of the
restaurant managers told me that the restaurants with the worst
paperwork and bookkeeping records were probably the most successful
as far as sales go. Though his restaurant did have pretty good sales
numbers and he didn't have very good paperwork, because he was out
managing and selling., he was nowhere near the best restaurant in the
chain. The restaurant with the best sales and manager who made the
largest bonuses had excellent paperwork. Could it be that these great
records were helpful to this manager? You better believe it! Just the
tracking of inventory alone is very helpful for making informed
management decisions.
That
manager did open my eyes to an opportunity. Some people just aren't
good at sitting at a desk and doing paperwork, but are excellent
salespeople, or maybe they just don't like doing this type of work.
So I thought, maybe I can do that for them and let me tell you I have
met some pretty smart people. You can practically see the numbers
juggling around in their brain as they calculate where there business
is financially. It's impressive, but when you want to attract
investors or get your taxes done, they want to see it on paper. So if
you feel like you need this kind of help I hope you give Bookkeeping
101 a chance, we'll keep it simple. |
